Groundwater contamination remediation procedures

SGR - Core Technology : Mobile apparatus for water treatment
Technical Overview
- • A compact and highly mobile water treatment system equipped with a liquid-gas separator and adsorption tower for treating contaminated groundwater.
- • Porous carbon nanomaterials (expanded graphite) have 70 times better oil adsorption capacity than conventional activated carbon → Treatment cost and treatment period reduction effect
- • Gasoline, diesel, kerosene, bunker fuel, BTX, pesticides, dioxin, phenol, and various inorganic pollutants can be remediated.

Patent (No. 10-1772913)

Unit-sectional View

Application of Mobile apparatus for water treatment
- • Applicable to sites of petroleum contamination incidents where installation of water treatment facilities is challenging.
- • Applicable to urgent soil/groundwater contamination sites.
- • Applicable to contaminated groundwater at livestock burial sites.
- • Applicable to wastewater from tunnel excavation at construction sites.
Utilization effect
- • Excellent mobility and can be quickly put into contaminated sites
- • Processing cost and treatment period are shortened by using materials specialized in oil emulsions
Field Application

SGR Technology : Heavy metals & Radioactive groundwater control technology
of contamination using Nano-convergence materials
Technical Overview
- • Nano-composite material (Fe-GAC) is 20~30% more efficient than conventional activated carbon in heavy metal removal process
- • 95% removal rate achieved for copper, arsenic, cadmium, lead, iodine and cesium
- • Uranium removal rate of 97% or higher (satisfying 30 µg/L based on drinking water quality)
- • Prolonging lifespan, reducing replacement cycles, and enhancing durability by minimizing contamination and degradation of reverse osmosis (RO) and nano-filtration membranes.
